Hi, I’m Becca

Dwell Doula Collective Educator
Safe-Sleep Consultant

I’m a wife, homeschooling mom of 3 (boy/girl twins + another girl), daughter, sister, aunt, friend, encourager.

As the youngest of five girls, I practically never slept alone from the moment I was born all the way until I moved out. Co-sleeping was my normal, such a comfort for me through so many foundational years. I remember it fondly and am so happy I had it.

On that same note, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum were always very normalized for me. It was an honor to witness and support my sisters in any part of that. It taught me that birth was nothing to fear and a village was essential. Becoming a mom was always my dream job.

As I got older, I quickly realized just how disconnected our culture can be. Often being told to go against our intuition, leaving so many feeling defeated and alone. My birth experience with my twins left me feeling robbed and violated. The three of us were okay; I was told that’s all that mattered. I wouldn’t settle for that.

That experience only solidified my belief that information and support are essential. I knew from that moment I wanted to be a part of that support for families as much as I could. While our twins were in the NICU, I was only told not to sleep with my babies and never how to safely do so. Out of a mix of survival and what just felt natural, we co-slept with our twins. Looking back, it wasn’t done with the safest practice. That’s exactly why I’m so passionate about this topic today! Whether you plan to do it until your babe is ready to sleep on their own or you simply just want the information and knowledge of what’s safest vs. what’s not (in case you have those inevitable nights where it just happens), my hope is that everyone would feel empowered to make informed decisions no matter what they may be. I love to meet people where they are and gently guide them as they’re learning so that they feel confident in themselves! I went on to have the most redemptive physiological birth (VBAC) and postpartum experience 7 years later, and get to co-sleep (much safer) with my newest babe today! I wouldn’t change any of my experiences; each one shaped who I am and allows me to connect with mamas on so many paths. Each high and low lead me right where I’m supposed to be.

When I’m not supporting families in some capacity, you can find me somewhere in nature with my family, making sourdough goodies, organizing, or researching something. I’m actually more of an introvert, but when I’m with people that fill me up or talking about things I love, you’d never guess. One of my favorite worship songs is House on a Hill by Amanda Cook.

I want every mama to feel seen, heard, and supported in every season. Because you deserve that. It’s an honor to be here with you!
