Hi, I’m Amanda.
WOMB Certified Birth, Postpartum, and Bereavement Doula
Dwell Childbirth Educator
I am a wife, homeschool mom, follower of Christ, and birth doula.
My love for birth and motherhood began long before I became a doula. I am one of eleven children and was blessed to grow up watching my mother embrace motherhood with joy, faith, and unwavering trust in the Lord. Her beautiful testimony of childbearing and motherhood left a lasting impression on me and sparked a lifelong fascination with pregnancy, birth, babies, and family life. We were a big family who spent much of our time with other big families. Because of that, the beautiful busyness (and occasional total chaos, haha!) of raising many children always felt very normal to me. Simple living, running a business from home with little ones running all around, gathering with other moms throughout the week, and stepping in to help when a family is in need—these were everyday parts of life. It’s messy and busy, but it’s also beautiful, sanctifying, and deeply rooted in community. It’s the kind of life I witnessed growing up, and it’s something I hope to intentionally cultivate as both a mother and a doula.
As a birth and postpartum doula, it is my joy to walk alongside families as they prepare to welcome their babies earth-side. I don’t think we were meant to do this alone… At least, we certainly didn’t used to! I consider it a tremendous privilege to support mothers & families with practical & simplified guidance, evidence-based education, emotional encouragement, and compassionate care throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum season. The birth world has changed significantly over the years—some would say it has been stripped of many of its natural beauties, and that fear has taken root where trust and confidence once flourished.
If I can help families feel seen, heard, held, educated, informed, and supported as they navigate pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the early days of parenthood—whether they desire an unmedicated or medicated birth, a hospital setting, a birth center, or a home birth—then I have done exactly what I believe the Lord has called me to do in this beautiful and tender work. And for that, I am so thankful!
